Bean Loved17 Otley Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1DY
Our very first trip out for a ‘socially distanced’ sit-down coffee and breakfast was at the amazing Bean Loved in Skipton. How lovely and special it felt to be able to go back into a coffee shop, after lockdown and to actually be able to sit down ‘inside‘ the cafe. It had been too long but…we were back! 😀
Health & safety procedures for socially distanced sit-down coffee
As we entered the store and were welcomed very warmly by staff wearing masks and gloves, 😷 the very next thing that was brought to our attention was the hand sanitiser near the door. We always have our own with us but it’s a lovely ‘safe’ touch. 😀
Next we were taken to our very nicely socially distanced table (no bookings required). There was absolutely nothing on the table itself at that point. We were then handed a disposable menu where we were invited to use the Track & Trace system by scanning the code on the menu itself and simply entering our names to let the NHS know we were there. (Some people are going to think ‘Big Brother…’ for sure but we weren’t bothered by it personally ourselves.)
After making our choices as to what to eat and drink our order was then taken by the waiter who was also wearing a mask and gloves 😷 and then, after only a short wait, delivered to our table – table service is always a treat I must admit. 😀
I ordered the delectably delicious caremelised banana pancakes (try saying that fast lol) whilst hubby had a yummy sourdough bacon sandwich and we also ordered two cafe lattes. Just as we remembered, the food and coffee was up to its usually amazing high standard!
I have to say it did feel rather special being waited on ‘hand and foot’ so to speak – mostly tho it was just fabulous being able to finally sit down in a cafe again , even if it was a socially distanced sit-down visit lol.
After you’ve finished your meal & coffee
Whilst we were there we did note what happened once someone was finished with their table and left. The waiter/waitress cleared the table quickly and efficiently and completely cleaned and wiped down the entire table surface and the chairs before the next person sat down.
Shortly after this we were ready to depart ourselves. However, since there was a short queue waiting to get some takeaway coffee, we sat patiently at our table until it was safe for us to pass. You see, we were sitting at the table near the counter and since there is still a one-way system in place, we just had to wait a few short mins before we could get up and go (not a problem for us whatsoever I might add).
Takeaway and click and collect
For those of you that are not quite ready to take the step of sitting down inside this cafe, don’t worry – Bean Loved still have you covered! Takeaway and the implementation of a new ’click and collect’ service could be right up your alley instead! Simply drop by for your takeaway coffee fix or order via the website and ‘click and collect!’ (includes food and drink) What could be simpler? 😉

An absolute pleasure
After a quick thank you, see you again soon and a friendly goodbye we safely departed thru the back entrance. We noted there were also a few tables outside where you could sit if you wanted to and again, plenty of hand sanitiser to use at your disposal.
I will say it once more – it was an absolute pleasure to be able to sit inside the cafe again, after so long, to have our delicious breakfast and coffee! We felt completely safe and the food, the coffee and the service, as always, was impeccable! 🥞🥪☕️
