What DOES or CAN ‘self-care during Coronavirus’ mean and what has this got to do with ‘getting out and about’?

Right now we are all living in what you might call rather unprecedented times during this awful pandemic situation. I’m sure that ‘many’ of us didn’t see it coming, have never seen anything like it before and certainly hope never to see anything quite like it, ever again. Stress, anxiety and fear might perhaps have become the norm for some of us. Things are indeed rather uncertain right now aren’t they?

Personal Feelings

I know I’ve had my own personal wobbles at times – worrying about safety whenever I myself am out and about, hating having to wear a face covering most of the time, wondering when this will all end or whether it’s going to become the norm to some extent.

Trying to stay on top of my own personal health and well-being has become super important to me. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a regular gym junkie but I don’t feel safe there right now. The worst things for me though have been not being able to HUG family and friends that I love or to not even meet my new grandson yet who was born during lockdown. 😞 😢

Self-Care Solutions

All of these things and more can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, fear, sadness and depression as you well know. So – what can we do about it? Well, I happened to come across a place which might be of some help to you as it certainly became for me.

An entrepreneur with a passion for wellness, Claire Smith set up Balanced Life Physiotherapy in the beautiful, historical High Corn Mill in Skipton – a place to ‘get out and about to’ for some much needed ‘self-care’. 😀

Claire is a fully qualified and highly experienced chartered physiotherapist but she also offers a range of other treatments too – acupuncture, aromatherapy, clinical reflexology, sports massage, yoga therapy and rehabilitation.

Which treatment did I choose for my own personal ‘self-care’? Something I had never tried before – aromatherapy!

Results of Self Care

Did it help?? I give that a big fat resounding YES! It most definitely did help! It was one of the most beautiful and relaxing massages I have ever had and it helped me to feel so much better overall! Claire was very thorough in taking a very detailed health history and finding out what it was that I needed from the session. She made me feel completely at ease and certainly eased away my troubles along with making my body feel totally amazing.

So….what I’m trying to impart here is that, during this very uncertain time that we are all going through right now, it’s important that we don’t forget to take care of ourselves. That could well be ‘getting out and about’ in nature, going out for a meal, grabbing a coffee or….organising some much needed ‘self care during Coronavirus’ for ourselves.

  1. Pleased you have found the aromatherapy so helpful . We all need something to heip us during this awful time we are all experiencing. We are going into tier 3 next week. I try to stay positive but have the odd wobble. Stay safe.
