Yard 46 – a quaint and cosy cafe

46 Branthwaite Brow, Kendal, LA9 4TX

Slap bang in the centre of the bustling market town of Kendal, tucked away down a secret alley hides Yard 46! This quaint and cosy cafe can be found in this amazing and lovely historic building which is the perfect place to sit, relax and while away a few hours.

A home away from home

With a welcoming open fire downstairs, a light and bright dining space upstairs and an outdoor courtyard you will find something here for everyone! A lovely, relaxed and peaceful feeling can be felt in the downstairs seating area and along with its real fire and wooden beams a very comfortable atmosphere has been created! Added to this, James, Sabina and the team are extremely friendly. You’ll come across a very warm welcome here, immediately feeling right at home! 🏠

On the menu in this quaint cosy cafe

Here is where you will find award winning coffee and homemade cake. You’ll also find a unique fresh baked in-house, bread based brunch style menu. Their chocolate sourdough has even gained a silver award through the world bread awards!

The team pride themselves on making everything they possibly can on site. They use high quality ingredients from sustainable suppliers. When hubby and I visited here we only had a couple of their most delectable and delicious brownies. However, the coffee is also something I can definitely vouch for! ☕️😍

Where you can find it

Even though it’s hidden away down a quiet alley this quaint cosy cafe is most definitely worth a visit! You’ll find it just off Branthwaite Brow which is close to where the market is held. It’s right next to the shop called Made in Cumbria. Oh! And the cafe happens to be dog friendly too! 🐕 🐶

Have you been here? If so, how did you find it? If not, I highly recommend it as it’s such a lovely little place to relax and chill out for a while.
