Wow! What can I say? Hebden Bridge sure can put on a fabulous steampunk market! I had an absolutely wonderful time and I wasn’t the only one. It was a brilliant weekend!
Once a year Hebden Bridge hosts this amazing steampunk market! It was incredibly busy with lots of amazing steampunk stalls to shop at. The regular market was also in attendance. The themed market was well attended by steampunk enthusiasts all dressed up in their beautiful finery and they looked amazing! There was so much to see and do on the day including music, dancing, parasol and tea duelling and more. I can highly recommend this event and not just for steampunk lovers either.
Hebden (as it’s often called) is such a fantastic place to visit at any time of the year though. It’s set in the lovely Calder valley in West Yorkshire and has this pretty little triangular courtyard in the middle of town called St Georges Square. This is where people love to gather with their family or friends. It’s also where you can get a great coffee and something to eat at any one of the wonderful cafes there. It’s a fantastic little meeting place and it gets really busy as it’s so popular.
What to see
There are even more wonderful cafes and restaurants throughout the town though and all the shops are pretty much independent too. There’s a fabulous choice of businesses to shop in and you’re sure to find something interesting and beautiful. Hebden also has a Saturday market and a pretty canal to walk along. There are always lots of different events happening here throughout the year too.
This is definitely a happening place with a fabulous vibe about it. I might just have to consider moving here one day.
Are you lucky enough to live in this village and if so, what do you like most about it?
