Breakfast in this pretty outdoor garden setting was delicious at The Old School Tea Room in Hebden in the Yorkshire Dales today. It was so good to see this very popular place open again after lockdown. To be out amongst nature in the garden and to relax in the warm sunshine was very pleasant indeed. 🌝

Safety procedures

As soon as we arrived this morning we saw a sign at the door with the procedures clearly explained. Choose a table, inside or out, check what you’d like to order from the menu, go inside to order and pay at the counter then return to your table to wait.

We decided to sit under one of the gazebos so that we’d have a little bit of shade. There are also tables with umbrellas and these rather cute little wooden sheds that you can sit right inside if you prefer. I have to say it’s such a pretty little garden setting where you feel completely relaxed and also safe as all of the seating is nicely distanced apart.

After a very short wait, our food was brought out to a small table nearby where they placed it for us to pick up once they had left it there. This also helps to encourage social distancing which we thought was a pretty nice touch.

A pleasant experience

There are only a few tables and chairs inside but it’s still very pleasant and you also get the chance to have a chat with the lovely staff members. There are clearly marked arrows on the floor inside directing you where to walk as you enter or leave the premises, again to encourage social distancing.

I’m so happy that we decided to have breakfast in this pretty outdoor garden setting today . The food was delicious as always, the service was fantastic as usual and to be able to sit outside, hearing the sounds of nature and soaking up the sun was a very pleasant start to our day!
