The Works – Skipton4 Sheep Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1JH
Arts, crafts, stationery, books, games, toys – all under one roof! Where, you ask? The Works of course! Now I may be a little bit biased here – because it’s where I work 😉 – but, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like this store!
Yes!! Your favourite store with all of your favourite goodies is finally open again after lockdown! Full of creative, useful, interesting and fun things to keep you busy and fill your days with things to do or to simply have a good time!
Arts & crafts
Are you into arts & crafts? I know I am! With so much to choose from you’re sure to find something that will have you creating any number of wonderful things. From the most basic items to the more extravagant – from the novice to the more advanced – from the crafter to the artist – we have something to suit everyone!
Now there’s just something – not sure exactly what – about stationery that just appeals to me and lots of other people too. Perhaps it’s simply the sheer choice of products or how useful it is? Maybe it’s the colours that attract you or simply that item that you‘ve just got to have for your home or work office, your study or just for fun? 😜
Books, games & toys
Who loves a good read? I’m well into fiction myself – I just can’t get past a good psychological thriller! The Works has an abundance to choose from! How about educational, drawing & colouring, biographies, history, cookery, sport, music, health & well-being and much much more!
Are you into games & toys? We’ve plenty to choose from – from child to adult play you’re simply spoilt for choice! What’s your favourite game? Mine used to be Monopoly or Twister – great games to get the whole family involved! 👨👩👧👦 😀
Why I love working here
I was fortunate enough to get my job at The Works just before lockdown happened. When I saw the job advertised I just had to go for it! Why, you ask? Well, apart from shopping here all the time 😜 I happen to love everything that this shop has to offer. I believe in the products they sell because they give you all of the most fun & wonderful things that you could want or need!
If you’re into arts & crafts, stationery that you need or simply have to have, a good read or just some fun and games, it’s all here! That’s not all either – it’s all at amazing prices! So, you can’t go far wrong stepping into the store to take a look around.
I also couldn’t ask for a better team to work with! They are all really helpful, supportive and super friendly – they instantly made me feel right at home! 🏡
What to expect
If you do pop in, please be patient with us as shopping today is a whole new kind of experience.
There’s a limit of only 6 people at a time allowed in store and we’d really appreciate you keeping a 2 metre distance from each other – you’ll see the markings on the floor. 🦶🦶 If you have children with you please ask them to stay close to you and we’d be grateful if you can try to only touch the stock that you wish to purchase.
If we’re busy, you may have to queue up outside for a bit but rest assured we’ll let you in as soon as we can. There’s a cleaning station at the door where you can sanitise your hands and wipe down your basket if you’d like to. We also prefer it if you would use contactless to pay but we do also accept cash.
You’ll notice a screen at the checkout and we clean things every 30 mins to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
A warm welcome
Anyone is welcome – especially people with dogs 🐕 😉 – and you’ll be assured of a very helpful and friendly service from all of the staff. And don’t forget, you also get the chance to see my smiling, friendly face! Why not pop in and come say hello? But – don’t walk out without buying something will you? My smile isn’t free you know! 😜
We do hope you’ll pop by soon because seriously….we’ve all missed you! However, if you’re not quite ready to take that step yet, please remember you can still shop online. 😉
Which of you loves The Works and is so glad to see it open once more? What are you looking forward to buying again? Arts & crafts, stationery, books, games and toys? I mean, seriously, what more can you ask for?
